At Enzo, we don’t just build spaces—we build lasting relationships. Clear communication and trust are the foundation of those relationships, yet we know how challenging that can be in construction. Miscommunication in our industry isn’t just frustrating; it’s costly, leading to delays, rework, and an estimated $31 billion in annual losses across construction. We were determined not to let poor communication hold our business back. That’s why we made a pivotal decision: to embrace construction project management software as a solution. We invested in JobTread, the industry’s leading project management platform, to modernize how we manage projects and collaborate with clients and subcontractors. The result has been nothing short of transformative for our company and our clients.
Why We Chose JobTread as Our Project Management Platform
We evaluated several tools, but JobTread stood out as an all-in-one construction management software that could grow with us. It’s not only user-friendly and powerful, but it’s also widely trusted in our industry. Knowing that the platform was built specifically for construction (with features from estimating and budgeting to scheduling and client management) gave us confidence it could tackle our real-world challenges. We weren’t looking for generic software – we needed a game-changer for communication and organization, and that’s exactly what JobTread promised to be.

Our Goals: We set out with clear goals for this implementation. We wanted to centralize all project information, eliminate communication silos, and give both our clients and trade partners a transparent window into the project. We also wanted to save time on administrative busy-work so our team could focus on what we do best.
Onboarding Our Clients: A New Level of Transparency
One of the first areas we saw an immediate impact was client communication. With JobTread, we created a personalized project dashboard for each client. This client portal became a one-stop hub where everything about their project is stored in one easy-to-use space – from plans and permits to daily logs and progress photos. Instead of sifting through long email threads or wondering about the status of work, our clients can now log into their JobTread dashboard anytime to see real-time updates on their project.
We update the dashboard daily with a log of what happened on site: which tasks were completed, who was on the job, and photos of the day’s progress. These daily logs tell the story of a project, giving clients a transparent play-by-play of the build. For example, if we pour a foundation or finish a framing section, the client will see notes and images of it that day. This level of insight builds incredible trust – our clients know exactly what’s going on without having to ask. One construction firm owner noted that sharing daily project updates transparently with clients keeps everyone on the same page and builds trust, and we can wholeheartedly echo that sentiment.
Perhaps one of the biggest reliefs for clients is not having to chase down information. All their documents – contracts, design drawings, change orders, schedules – are organized in the portal. Need to check the project schedule or see what’s coming up next week? It’s on the dashboard calendar. Misplaced the contract email? No problem – the signed contract is stored and accessible with one click, and even contracts can be signed digitally right in JobTread. This means no more printing, scanning, or mailing documents back and forth. Everything is centralized, organized, and at their fingertips.
Communication has become seamless. JobTread sends our clients messages and updates from a dedicated project email address linked to the platform. Clients can simply hit reply from their inbox, and the response is logged directly into the JobTread thread – no need to dig up anyone’s personal email or worry about CC’ing the right people. All correspondence stays in one place on the platform, attached to the project timeline. This eliminates the confusion of scattered communication channels; as industry experts note, relying on a mix of emails, texts, and calls leads to missed updates and misplaced information. By centralizing our client communication in JobTread, we’ve drastically reduced the chance of anything “slipping through the cracks.”
A Remote Renovation Success Story
One of the most unique projects we’ve completed was for a client who was referred to us by a friend. Because of their busy travel schedule, they needed a company that could manage every aspect of their renovation while they were away. We took on their kitchen and bathroom renovation, and the remarkable part was that we never met them in person until the final project delivery.
Through JobTread, our team handled everything—from redesigning the floorplan to purchasing materials and even selecting furniture. Every decision, change order, and approval was communicated and documented directly on the platform. The client stayed connected by checking daily logs, photos, and immersive 360° videos, which gave them peace of mind no matter where they were traveling.
At the end of the project, she simply arrived with a suitcase and moved straight into her newly renovated home. It’s a powerful example of how technology can make a renovation truly stress-free, even when the homeowner can’t be physically present.
In short, onboarding our clients onto JobTread has elevated our service. It keeps clients informed, reduces misunderstandings, and involves them in the process more than ever before. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive: clients feel more in control and more connected to their projects. And a happy, well-informed client makes for a smoother project and a stronger relationship in the end.

Empowering Our Subcontractors and Trades for Smoother Collaboration
It’s not just clients who benefit – JobTread has also transformed how we work with our subcontractors (trades). In construction, coordination with trades is key, and we pride ourselves on partnering with the best in the business. But even the best trades can run into issues if communication is poor. Before, we managed subcontractor communication through a flurry of emails, phone calls, and separate file shares. Now, with JobTread, everyone is plugged into the same platform, and it has made a world of difference.
When we kick off a new project, we onboard our subcontractors to the JobTread system just like we do clients. Each trade partner gets access to the project via their own Subcontractor Portal on JobTread. Here, they can find everything they need at their fingertips: the scope of work, project drawings and specifications, the construction schedule, task assignments, and any related documents (like permits or design selections relevant to their trade). By having all this information in one place, our trades can execute their scope efficiently and stay aligned with our team every step of the way – no more showing up to site unsure of what’s been done or what’s next.
We encourage our subcontractors to use the JobTread mobile app as well. Many of our partners work on the go, moving between job sites, so having mobile access is crucial. With the app, they receive real-time notifications if a scheduled date shifts or if there’s a new message or file for them. For instance, if we adjust the tiling schedule by a day, our tiling subcontractor gets an instant alert and can plan accordingly. Likewise, if they upload a photo or completion note for their task, our whole team sees it immediately. This kind of real-time update keeps everyone on the same page, preventing the delays that often happen when messages don’t get through in time.
Communication with trades through JobTread is also more structured. Instead of text messages that might get lost or someone being left off an email chain, any questions or updates are posted in the project’s message thread or comments. Our project managers and the subcontractors can tag each other and keep the dialogue transparent. Everyone with access to the project (including the relevant team members on our side) sees those communications, so there are no gaps or surprises. If a subcontractor requests a change or raises a concern, it’s logged for all to see and address. This openness fosters a team mentality – we’re all literally on the same page (or screen, in this case).
Bottom line: by bringing our subcontractors onto JobTread, we have minimized miscommunications, improved on-site coordination, and built even better relationships with our trades. They know we value their time and craft because we’ve invested in a tool that makes their job easier – no more last-minute calls or missing info, just clear tasks and timelines. This pays off for us too: when subcontractors have what they need and feel respected, they deliver their best work and stick with us for future projects. It’s a win-win for everyone involved in the project.
Looking Ahead with JobTread’s New Features
Seeing how much JobTread has benefitted our business, we’re excited to continue leveraging its features to the fullest. The platform continues to release updates that we’re already integrating into our workflow:
-
Workflow Automations – We now automate repetitive tasks like daily log reminders, schedule templates, and proposal follow-ups, saving our team valuable time.
-
Kanban Task Views – A visual board helps us (and our trades) track task progress at a glance and update instantly.
-
CSV Export of Parameters – We can share takeoff and measurement data directly with suppliers, speeding up material ordering and ensuring accuracy.
-
“To Be Billed” Report Column – This feature makes budget tracking clearer, showing us exactly what’s pending with vendors.
-
Dashboard Text Tiles – We use these for quick notes, reminders, and updates across our team directly in the system.
For our clients, these updates mean faster communication, better organization, and an even smoother project experience. For our trades, it means clearer coordination and stronger accountability.
At Enzo, we’ve always been about going the extra mile for our clients and partners. Investing in JobTread was another way for us to do that – by providing transparency, accountability, and efficiency that people don’t often expect in construction. It’s been a rewarding journey, and we’re excited to keep building on this success. As we launch our new onboarding video for clients and trades (showcasing how to use the JobTread platform effectively), we’re proud to be at the forefront of marrying construction with technology in a meaningful way.
