This client portal became a one-stop hub where everything about their project is stored in one easy-to-use space – from plans and permits to daily logs and progress photos. Instead of sifting through long email threads or wondering about the status of work, our clients can now log into their JobTread dashboard anytime to see real-time updates on their project.

These daily logs tell the story of a project, giving clients a transparent play-by-play of the build. For example, if we pour a foundation or finish a framing section, the client will see notes and images of it that day. This level of insight builds incredible trust – our clients know exactly what’s going on without having to ask. One construction firm owner noted that sharing daily project updates transparently with clients keeps everyone on the same page and builds trust, and we can wholeheartedly echo that sentiment.

All correspondence stays in one place on the platform, attached to the project timeline. This eliminates the confusion of scattered communication channels; as industry experts note, relying on a mix of emails, texts, and calls leads to missed updates and misplaced information. By centralizing our client communication in JobTread, we’ve drastically reduced the chance of anything “slipping through the cracks.”

One of the most unique projects we’ve completed was for a client who was referred to us by a friend. Because of their busy travel schedule, they needed a company that could manage every aspect of their renovation while they were away. We took on their kitchen and bathroom renovation, and the remarkable part was that we never met them in person until the final project delivery.

Empowering Our Subcontractors and Trades for Smoother Collaboration

It’s not just clients who benefit – JobTread has also transformed how we work with our subcontractors (trades). In construction, coordination with trades is key, and we pride ourselves on partnering with the best in the business. But even the best trades can run into issues if communication is poor. Before, we managed subcontractor communication through a flurry of emails, phone calls, and separate file shares. Now, with JobTread, everyone is plugged into the same platform, and it has made a world of difference.

Each trade partner gets access to the project via their own Subcontractor Portal on JobTread. Here, they can find everything they need at their fingertips: the scope of work, project drawings and specifications, the construction schedule, task assignments, and any related documents (like permits or design selections relevant to their trade). By having all this information in one place, our trades can execute their scope efficiently and stay aligned with our team every step of the way – no more showing up to site unsure of what’s been done or what’s next.

We encourage our subcontractors to use the JobTread mobile app as well. Many of our partners work on the go, moving between job sites, so having mobile access is crucial. With the app, they receive real-time notifications if a scheduled date shifts or if there’s a new message or file for them. For instance, if we adjust the tiling schedule by a day, our tiling subcontractor gets an instant alert and can plan accordingly. Likewise, if they upload a photo or completion note for their task, our whole team sees it immediately. This kind of real-time update keeps everyone on the same page, preventing the delays that often happen when messages don’t get through in time. 

Communication with trades through JobTread is also more structured. Instead of text messages that might get lost or someone being left off an email chain, any questions or updates are posted in the project’s message thread or comments. Our project managers and the subcontractors can tag each other and keep the dialogue transparent. Everyone with access to the project (including the relevant team members on our side) sees those communications, so there are no gaps or surprises. If a subcontractor requests a change or raises a concern, it’s logged for all to see and address. This openness fosters a team mentality – we’re all literally on the same page (or screen, in this case).

 

Bottom line: by bringing our subcontractors onto JobTread, we have minimized miscommunications, improved on-site coordination, and built even better relationships with our trades.
